Guidelines.
To submit your Draco/Ginny fanfiction, there are some basic guidelines to follow. Please be respectful of them or your entry will be disqualified. Thank you.
Guidelines
1. Any rating will be accepted, but please note that if you intend to enter a NC-17 rated story, you must clearly say so in the subject line of the e-mail. It should also be tasteful and be warned that not all judges will be bound to read it if they are not comfortable with the subject matter. Your fic will not be penalized if that is the case.
2. To send your story through e-mail, please use to following address, with the subject line as "Entry for D/G Awards", dracoginnyawards [at] hotmail.com. It will then be sent out to the judges to read themselves. Under no circumstance shall you ask for the judges e-mail to send it directly as we need to send the same story out to each one.
3. For the 2005 FanFiction Awards, there will be three categories of winners, and only one winner in each, instead of gold, silver and bronze as previously done. These three categories are: Best One Shot, Best Novel-Length Fic, and Best Original Fic. You can only enter your story in one category, but multiple entries are allowed. As this seems to confuse some, let me clarify: You can enter only one story into each category. This means you can only enter a maximum of three stories -- one for each category. This is what I meant by multiple entries. Finally, one story will be picked out of all of the entries to win Reader's Choice voted by webpoll.
(To clarify, a Novel-Length fic will be defined as having more than seven chapters and/or more than 50,000 words. Does not have to be both, it can be one of the two. As well, Original Fic is defined by having elements to the story not originally found in the Harry Potter world and/or a significant percentage of characters (aside from Draco and Ginny) that are original.)
4. Fans can, again, nominate their favourite stories. If someone would like to nominate a story, please e-mail the Awards with the title of the story, a link (if possible), the author's name and e-mail address so that I may get in touch with the author to ask for permission to enter the contest.
5. There's no need to send the fic as an attachment anymore, so long as there is a link to the fic in the e-mail. If there is no link, because it hasn't been posted on the internet anywhere, please send you story in a .doc, .htm or .html file as an attachment through the e-mail. If you do not know how to attach a file, please contact the webmistress at dracoginnyawards@hotmail.com
6. When submitting your story, please include: Your Name, Your PenName, Title of the Story, Rating, Category you are Applying for, the Category of the Fic (see Rule #7), and a Link (if you have one) to your Story.
7. The categories are as follows: Fluff/Romance, Angst/Tragedy/Horror, Action/Adventure, Drama and Humour.
8. The deadline for the submitting process is April 30, 2005. The date for announcing the winners will be decided later, as I may be away during the time I would normally announce them. Other than that, GOOD LUCK!
