About this website...

So, about this webpage. Well, this idea to start an awards website for Draco/Ginny pairings was thought up in the summer of 2002. It actually took me a whole year to get the website created and up to speed for visitors, which is pretty bad if I do say so myself. (Can you say procrastination? Hee, yes, in fact, this very moment I am avoiding doing any sort of work for Financial Accounting. Whee!)

Yes, so, this website is in its second year of running and I'm very proud of that. We've had one successful contest already, the Draco/Ginny FanFiction Contest, which happened last summer (2003). With well over 20 entries, I was beside myself with glee. And I'm happy to say that this website has had over 10,000 hits to date. To some this may seem like a small number, but to me it's overwhelming. I never thought I'd run a site that people actually went to!

After the successful completion of the fanfiction contest, I wasn't quite sure what to do with the (then) "Draco/Ginny FanFiction Awards", until I realised I didn't need to limit myself or this site to fanfiction. Thus, the Draco/Ginny Awards were created. Now I hope the fanart competition will be just as successful with many other contests in the future. And of course, the Second Annual Draco/Ginny FanFiction contest will be back in full swing come early summer! (Edited to Add: And is currently running!)

For those who do not know, I am Emma, aka FireSprite. I've only ever written Ginny 'fics, don't ask me why, I don't know. I suppose that I identify with her very much seeing as how I'm a redhead. Yes, so I've never written any stories where Ginny (or Draco, now, I suppose) wasn't the main character. I don't think I'll ever know why, but that's just how I do things. Odd like that, some might say.

There's not much else to say, really. I used to write tons of (very bad) Harry/Ginny stories, before I started to write Draco/Ginny, which I love, even after two years of it. This is my homage to the 'ship, which I still love even after all this time, even after it's been far over-done now. Such is the nature of things. If you would like to read any of my stories, please head on over to FanFiction.net and search for "FireSprite". Or just click here.

You have my deepest thanks for coming over to this website and looking around (maybe even submitting?). So, thank you and have a great day!

-Emma (FireSprite)
